A Semester of Photography

A semester of photography does not a photographer make, but I am loving the camera. With the Help of my terina friend and the use of her Nikon, I was able to take a semester of photography and take some decent shots. I went north to Provo a while back to hang with some wonderful gals and one of their sons, Ryan, who is a fabulous photographer, has inspired me to keep on trucking. He has some wonderful photography under Ryancphotography.blogspot.com. It is fabulous work and I enjoy staring at his beautiful art!! Above are a few of my fun photos I took for class.
ENjoY!

Seven days in the MTC

So we got a letter yesterday. All is well. But we didn't get too much info. sigh. Things are good. Can't wait for more news. I am surviving day by day without my david. But I am not such a boob - am I? Just living thru my son? he has a mission site.
This photo is of d-day morning. See how happy we were - NOT!! well, not not happy - just knowing what was about to take place. The weight of the knowing you won't see your son in 2 years and the wondering of what is about to happen in the next 2 years.

The Hutch

So this is my dad's hutch. It just had the fiberboard showing behind the shelves. I love the hutch - maybe some day I will get the courage to paint it a little. But for now I just finished it off with some bead board. Really adds the finishing touch.
Little at a time.

He's Gone

Yep - My baby boy is in the MTC'
Yep - He is headed to Italy.
Yep - Its been 4 days and I have not heard from him. grrrrr!!!
Going from texting every hour of every day to none to not even any knowledge about what the heck he is doing!! FRUSTRATING!
So Now I am desperately awaiting the first email, first letter or something just to hear from him. I am missing my boy!!
I will keep the mission site updated if you want to check in there
http://www.missionsite.net/eldervanauker/main
TO check in with us about the family - I will try to update monthly.
